Gary Lee Clapper, 59, of McAlester, Oklahoma died Saturday, November 12, 2022, at his home.
Gary Lee was born to James and Barbara (Stricker) Clapper on January 2, 1963, in Kirkwood, Missouri. He attended Union, Missouri schools and graduated from Union High School in 1981. Gary was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and St. Louis Blues hockey fan. He was also a fan of John Force Racing. He enjoyed music but his greatest love was for his entire family. His family always came first.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, James Clapper; favorite uncle, Jim Landrum; maternal grandparents, Lester and Virginia Stricker; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Dortha Clapper.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Barbara Peterson and Pete of the home; son, Eric Clapper and wife, Danielle of Union, Missouri; daughter, Nicole Clapper of Leslie, Missouri; grandchildren, Avery, August, Betty, a baby boy on the way, Rylee and Alex; brother, David Clapper and wife, Nancy of Union, Missouri, step-sister, Ronnie Kay Bailey and husband, Johnny of Sobol, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews, Hannah Lucas and husband, Kory, Michael Clapper, Kody Bailey, Jesse Bailey, aunt, Linda Landrum of Palestine, Texas, uncle, Buddy Stricker of St. Louis, Missouri; cousins, Marc, Shelly, Austin, Melinda and Susan; the mother of his children, Sonya Kasmann of Union, Missouri; special friends, Charles and Jan Wheeler of Beaufort, Missouri; other family members and friends.
The pallbearers will be Kory Lucas, Michael Clapper, Charles Wheeler, Austin Stricker, Alex Machelett, Dave Clapper, Eric Clapper and Buddy Stricker.
Memorial donations are appreciated to the Beaufort Elementary School or Immaculate Conception School in honor of his grandchildren.
