William "Fred" Gunter III of St. Clair, MO passed away unexpectedly at home February 28, 2024 at the age of 64 years.  Fred, the son of William Gunter Jr. and his wife, Eunice (Briggs), was born June 11, 1959 in St. Louis, MO.  He received his education from Pattonville High School in St. Louis, MO.  He was united in marriage to Kathy (Sprock) on October 21, 2006 in St. Peters, MO and the couple made their home in St. Clair, MO.  Fred was employed as a diesel mechanic at Bill's Truck Repair in Maryland Heights, MO. He was a member of the St. Clair Saddle Club and loved riding his horses.  Fred loved music and was an extremely talented guitar player and pool player.  He also enjoyed going for rides on his Harley.  The time Fred cherished most was the time spent with his family and friends, and he will be dearly missed.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, William "Fred" and Eunice Gunter, Jr.; one son, Michael Sprock; and one sister, Beverly White.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Gunter of St. Clair; one son, Eric Webb and wife Amanda of Pacific; three daughters: Shannon Howard and husband Tim of St. Clair, Lisa Webb-Nicholas and husband Mike of Gerald, and Michelle Crossen and husband Brendan of Sullivan; one sister, Renee Chellis and husband Jeff of Wildwood; fifteen grandchildren:  Alivia Webb (who was raised as Fred's daughter), Brittany, Jacob, Haley, Alexis, Ethan, Nevaeh, Noah, Christian, Jezziah, Paige, Meredith, Claire, Aries, and Jude; two great-grandchildren: Waylon and Elliot; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Memorials in honor of Fred Gunter can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
