Obituary

Franklin Edward Busse of Labadie, Missouri peacefully passed away at 75 years of age on May 14, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur. He was in Hospital Hospice Care surrounded by the love of his family. He had strong faith and belief and trust in God.

Franklin was born on May 6, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Edward and Ruby Evelyn (Green) Busse. His nine siblings and other family members and friends called him “Eddie” when he was young and throughout his life. He graduated from Pacific High School in 1969 and then attended college. He enjoyed a fulfilling career with Union Electric/Ameren and achieved many years working as a Journeyman Electrical Lineman and Journeyman Substation Mechanic.

He married Patricia Meyers in 1974 at St. Bridget Church in Pacific, Missouri. They were blessed with a son and daughter and 52 years of marriage. Franklin had an awesome personality and a wonderful sense of humor. He greatly enjoyed spending time with family members and spending time outdoors in nature. He cherished his friendship with Brother Matthew Gallagher, a Franciscan Brother and Artist who passed away in 2007.

Franklin was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruby Busse; his parents-in-law, Norman and LaVern Meyers; two sisters, Ethel Busse and Elaine Ellis; one brother, John Busse; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Busse and Marie Busse; seven brothers-in-law, William Ahlers, Ron Ellis, Melvin Horton, Jerry Jones, John Ohlendorf, Steven Meyers and Glenn Strunk; three nephews, Scott Ahlers, Andy Meyers and John Pilger.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Busse; one son, Ethan Busse and wife Melissa; one daughter, Leigh Busse Kay and husband Terry; four grandchildren, Rosie Busse, Charlie Busse, Henry Busse and Mary Busse; one brother, Wayne Busse; five sisters, Joyce Ohlendorf, June Horton, Jean Ahlers, Susan Busse-Jones and Joni Siewell; one sister-in-law, Mella Strunk and one brother-in-law, Tim Meyers and wife Susan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interment of Ashes will be private.

There will be no other services.
