Obituary

Forrest Swartz, 94 of Washington passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 in Washington.

Mr. Swartz, son of the late Winiford Swartz and wife Loula Blanche nee Waters was born on April 17, 1914 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

He served his country during World War II in the Army Air Forces and received an honorable discharge. He was a secondary level teacher for several years with the Mehlville School District.

In 1947 he graduated from The University of Oklahoma with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He furthered his education by graduating from The University of Missouri, Rolla in 1966 with a Masters Degree in Geology.

In 1950 he was united in marriage to Mildred Turner in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Swartz was preceded in death by his parents Winiford and Loula Swartz; his wife Mildred Swartz; one sister, Mina Soper.

He is survived by one son, Wade Swartz and wife Cheryl of Washington; one daughter, Tallulah Swartz and Randy Holt of Washington; one brother Charles Tedford and wife Julie of Scottsdale, Arizona; three grandchildren, Candace Swartz and fiancé Ryan Warner of Fort Worth, Texas, Wyatt Swartz of Washington and Squire Holt of Washington; companion, Ethel Utterback of Washington; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
