Evelyn M. Huff nee Spurgeon, 78 of St. Clair passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Washington. Mrs. Huff, daughter of Virgil and Tressy Spurgeon was born November 21, 1935 in Vanduser, Missouri. On June 6, 1964 she was united in marriage to John H. Huff in St. Louis. Mrs. Huff was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Tress Spurgeon; her son, Steven "Shag" D. Wright and five brothers, Roy Spurgeon, John Spurgeon, Jake Spurgeon, Ted Spurgeon and Jim Spurgeon. She is survived by her husband, John H. Huff of St. Clair; three sons, Jerry Wright and wife Cindy of Lonedell, Richard Spurgeon of Murphysboro, IL and John R. Huff of Luebbering; six grandchildren, Benjamin Wright of Sullivan, Nicole Belt of Sullivan, Christina Harrison and husband Josh of Washington, Heather Wright of Beaufort, Zach Mesey of Sullivan and Seth Mesey of Sullivan; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor, Haleigh, Kali, Dakota, Cooper, Makenzie and Max; nieces nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
