Obituary

Ethel M. Hawkins (Werley), 72 of St. Clair passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at her home.

Mrs. Hawkins, daughter of Allen Werley and wife Sadie (Dorris) was born May 18, 1950, in Desloge.

On March 18, 1972, Ethal was united in marriage to Floyd Hawkins in St. Clair.

She worked at St. Clair Nursing Home for 29 years as a Medical Technician.

Ethel enjoyed watching her favorite shows on television and being an avid Cardinal Baseball Fan. Most of all she loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Sadie Werley; her husband, Floyd Hawkins; two brothers, Robert Werley and Fred Werley; two sisters, Marty Moore and Debbie Sansoucie and great-grandson, Shane Hawkins Jr.

She is survived by two sons, James Hawkins of St. Clair and Marty Light and fiancé Monica Steis of Villa Ridge; five daughters, Robin Dace and husband Sean of St. Clair, Charlene Hawkins of St. Clair, Michelle Crowley and husband Mark of St. Clair, Marsha Crider and significant other Christopher Hamilton of St. Clair and Wanda Hamilton of St. Clair; one brother, Elmer Werley and wife Glenda of Desloge; one sister, Lori Hurt and husband Lawrence of Ironton; sixteen grandchildren, Shane Hawkins Sr. and wife Rhonda of St. Clair, Samantha Hawkins and boyfriend Travis of St. Clair, Stephanie Butler and fiancé Austin Sims of Lonedell, Sean Dace and girlfriend Kathlyn Valley of Bourbon, Brandon Dace of St. Clair, Brenden Dace and girlfriend Shelby King of St. Clair, Dakota Dace of St. Clair, Stacey Panye and husband Jordan of Centralia, Patric Schaper of Wright City, Tylor Thurman of St. Clair, Adam Thurman of St. Clair, Brennan Hawkins of St. Clair, Tori Hawkins of Bourbon, Noah Hamilton of Pacific, Creeden Hamilton of Pacific, Liam Hamilton of Pacific and Kaden Hess of Bourbon; twenty-two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Glenn Moore of Desloge; sister-in-law, Helen Long of St. Clair; special niece and nephew, John "Rowdy" Long of St. Clair and Glenna Courtway of St. Clair; special friend, Betty Hamilton of St. Clair; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to Susan G. Komen for the Cure are preferred.
