Obituary

Erma Woods Generally, 92 of Lee's Summit, formerly of St. Clair passed away peacefully Sunday, September 21, 2014 at her home. Born Naomi Erma Alene Generally, on September 1st, 1922 in St. Clair Missouri, and was the 13th child of the late Isaac Generally and wife Rosie nee Clay. Erma was of the Christian Faith and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 1942 she was united in marriage to Darnell Woods and one son was born to this union. Erma was born and raised in St. Clair, Missouri. She was a member of the Cosmetology Association and owned and operated the first minority owned Hair Salon in Richmond Heights, Missouri. Later she went on to work at Citizens National Bank in Maplewood, Missouri until her retirement in 1988. In 2002 she moved to the Kansas City area to be with family. Erma's favorite pastime was keeping the family connected through social media and was an avid Facebook user and was often referred to as a "power user." Erma especially enjoyed family gatherings, when all of her grandchildren would gather together to celebrate special holidays and birthdays. The love of her family was at the core of everything she did. Ms. Generally was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Ralph Julius Woods and thirteen siblings. She is survived by her grandchildren who affectionately called her Gam; Angela Woods Brown and husband Tim of Lee's Summit, Kimberly Woods Riden of Rolla, Shaun Woods of St. Louis, Tanisha Ross Paige of St. Louis and Antoine Woods of St. Louis; twelve great-grandchildren; Jacqueline Cook, Christopher Woods, Anthony Woods, Kirsten Brown, Jared Brown, Peyton Brown, Brandon Harvey, Cory Harvey, Jordan Woods, Whitney Paige, Jocelyn Woods, AJ Woods and three great-great grandchildren; special daughter, Jacqueline Coffey and husband Lawrence of St. Louis; daughter-in-law, Betty Woods of St. Louis; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.
