Elvie "Butch" Berkbigler, 63, of St Clair, MO passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Washington, MO.
Butch, as he was known to family and friends, was born to the union of Harold and Laura (Miller) Berkbigler, on December 30, 1960. He was united in marriage to Beulah Hawkins in Union, MO on September 14, 1990.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved line fishing on the Meramec River where he camped on the family lot. He also enjoyed raising cattle and spending time with friends while coon hunting.
Butch was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Berkbigler; brother, Larry Berkbigler; daughter-in-law, Patricia DeWitt; son-in-law, William Courtway; and two grandchildren: Jami Reilly and Melissa McClerren.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Berkbigler; his father, Harold Berkbigler; two sons: Gilbert DeWitt and Karen Lambert of Robertsville, and Greg DeWitt and wife Jeanne of Sturgeon; four daughters: Peggy Stivers of Sullivan, Tammy Kelleher and husband Anthony of Sullivan, Connie Berg and Kelly DeClue of Sullivan, and Glenna Courtway of Bourbon; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations to the family are preferred.
