Elsie Sue Sutton (Gardner), 66, of Washington, passed away, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

On February 16, 1957, Elsie was born to the union of Herbert Gardner and Delores (Grannemann) in Washington, Missouri.

Elsie received her education in the Washington School District.

She worked as a waitress for 20 plus years at Ponderosa in Washington where she greeted all the customers with her warm smile and caring attentive service. After her retirement due to the untimely closing of Ponderosa, Elsie took her talents as a server on the road and became a driver for Instacart delivering friendly service with a smile.

Elsie was also a member of the LifeStream Christian Church in Washington.

Elsie loved her community of Washington very much. She never met a stranger and enjoyed bringing joy to everyone's day. Elsie also liked trying her luck at the casino playing the slots. In her younger years, Elsie loved to go fishing, go to movie theaters and rock out at concerts. Most of all, Elsie cherished the time she spent with her friends and more importantly her family, especially her grandchildren  and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Delores Gardner; two aunts, Irene Denton and Henrietta Stewart.

Elsie is survived by her son, Michael Sutton of Washington; four daughters, Debbie Miller and husband Mark of Florida, Jessica Sullentrup of Union, Rachel Giacopelli and husband Nick of Troy and Michelle Sutton of Wisconsin; one brother, Gary Gardner and wife Wanda of Union; two sisters, Frieda Scott of Union and Frances Herman of Texas; niece and nephews; Jenni Scott, Timothy Nguyen and Thomas Nguyen; three aunts, Barb Gillam and husband Cliff of Owensville, Janice Kluba of Washington and Naomi Glaser of Washington; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
