Elmer Leroy Downey, 86, of St. Clair, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021, at his home.

On December 23, 1934, Elmer was born to the union of Frank Downey and Florence (Hence) in St. Clair.

He was united in marriage to Maudie Marie Sohn in St. Clair on August 30, 1952.

Elmer was a semi-truck driver for many years. He was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Florence Downey; two daughters, Carolyn DeClue and Paula Downey, and all his brothers and sisters.

Elmer is survived by three sons, Edward Downey and wife Donna of Lonedell, William Downey and wife Elaine of St. Clair and Benjamin Downey of St. Clair; three daughters, Sharon Rice and husband Thomas of Cuba, Sandra Tyrey of St. Clair and Tina Downey of St. Clair; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
