Sam was born in Flint, Michigan on April 13th, 1961; daughter of Marvin and Alice Pyne. Sam has four siblings: brothers, Mark and Marvin, and sisters, Ida and Alice. Sam grew up in Fenton, Michigan but spent most of her early adult years moving place to place enjoying the freedom of traveling. During her travels she stumbled upon Union, MO where she would later meet her current husband, Daryl Dell. They would go on to be married for over 24 years having two children, Destiny and Derrick Dell. Daughter Destiny would go on to provide Sam with her only current grandchild, Stella Hertweck, with partner Dillion Hertweck. Son Derrick and fiancé Ali Tucker are to be married in 2024.

Sam enjoyed collecting trinkets and knick-knacks. She also enjoyed spending her time playing challenging games such as Text-Twist and Candy Crush. But most importantly she enjoyed being around her friends and family making memories.  She always saw the good in people and befriended anyone she could.

On the morning of July 7th, 2023, Sam passed peacefully in her home in Saint Clair, MO. In the weeks preceding her passing she was visited by many of her close friends and family who gave their final goodbyes. She will be greatly missed here, but has many people waiting with open arms on her arrival elsewhere. In her short life of 62 years, she made many memories, her friendships will be cherished by those who had the opportunity to know her.

Her wishes to be cremated have been fulfilled and there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
