Eileen A. Svoboda (Witte), 73, of Eureka passed away Sunday, June 23, 2019 in Creve Coeur.

Eileen, daughter of Gerald Witte and wife Ina Marie (Peterson) was born August 29, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska.

On April 22, 1965 she was united in marriage to Fredrick J. Svoboda in Omaha, Nebraska.

Eileen was a volunteer firefighter and EMT for the Eureka Fire Protection District. She further gave back to the community by volunteering at the Eureka Historical Society.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Ina Marie Witte; her husband, Fredrick J. Svoboda; one grandson, F. Jon Svoboda III and one sister-in-law, Carol Svoboda.

She is survived by five children and stepchildren, Lori Patterson of Eureka, Fredrick J. Svoboda II of St. Louis, Paul Svoboda and wife Melanie of Eureka, J. Joseph Svoboda and wife Patti of Omaha, NE and Suzanne Klingemann and husband Scott of Gretna, NE; twelve grandchildren, Lacey, Breena, Cassie, Declan, Bryan, Rachel, Anthony "A.J.", Robbie and wife Lindsey, Nick, Tricia and husband Adam, Ben and wife Ashley and Collin and wife Chrissy; four great-grandchildren, Addy, Tatum, Maci and John; best friends and dogs, Leroy, Sherman and Dozer; other relatives and many friends.

No formal services will be held per Eileen's wishes.

The family would like to thank Evelyn's House and staff for the compassionate care they gave to Eileen during her stay.
