Edward C. Burton, 86, of St. Clair passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 at his home.

Edward, son of Samuel Burton and wife, Frieda (Schoeneman), was born April 8, 1935 in St. Clair.

On August 27, 1954, he was united in marriage to Virginia Griffin in St. Clair.

Edward worked as a Machinist at McDonnell Douglas for 13 years. Later he transferred to Complete Auto as a car hauler delivering GM vehicles, retiring after 20 years of service.

He was a Mason and member of the Easter Masonic Lodge 575 in St. Clair as well as the Elks Lodge in St. Clair.

In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Frieda Burton; his daughter, Barbara J. Saling and his grandson, Jeremy Burton.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Burton of St. Clair; one son, Edward Burton II and wife Linda of St. Clair; four grandchildren: Crystal Saling of Chesterfield, Sam Saling and wife Samantha of Union, Tiffany Burton (wife of Jeremy) of St. Clair and Jason Burton and wife Shelby of Thousand Oaks, CA; eight great-grandchildren: Cohen Burton, Daylyn Burton, Alex Burton, Grace O'Neil, Isabelle Barton, Taylor Johnson, Brooke Wideman and Reid Saling; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to the Easter Masonic Lodge 575 in St. Clair are preferred.
