Edmond "Ed" Matthews, 61, of St. Clair passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in Washington.

Mr. Matthews, son of the late Herbert Matthews and wife Diana nee Reinwald was born April 27, 1955 in St. Louis.

On February 22, 1975 he was united in marriage to Mary DeClue in St. Clair.

Mr. Matthews was preceded in death by his parents, Hebert and Diana Matthews.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Matthews of St. Clair; three daughters, Tonya Matthews of St. Clair, Dawn Belanger and husband Terry of Houma, Louisiana and Jessica Matthews and fiancé Jason Ellison of Eureka; one brother, Danny Matthews and wife Tracy of Florida; one sister, Jeanie Thomas of Sullivan; seven grandchildren, Hope, Haley, Ezra, Isaiah, Morgan, Taylor and Terry Jr.; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
