Earl Leonard Bunton, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home in Union, Missouri on Sunday morning , February 13, 2022, he was surrounded by his children and loved ones.
Earl, son of Lee Oscar Bunton and wife Emma Jane (Haynes) was born April 23, 1945 in Oak Hill, Missouri.
On July 19, 1969 he was united to his first wife, Ruth Ann Marks in Villa Ridge and to his second wife, Oleva Tilton on March 21, 2000 in Union.
Earl was a Christian and Baptized into the Baptist Faith.
Earl worked in highway maintenance for MODOT and retired after 29 years of service. As an employee he was very dedicated and enjoyed the task of cutting grass and plowing snow.
He enjoyed mushroom hunting, hunting (especially squirrels) and fishing. He also enjoyed long walks through the woods. At his home garden he grew flowers, various vegetables and took great pride in his lawn. He was always very generous, offering to help his neighbors with lawn care when they were unable. He loved his dogs and tinkering with lawn mowers, but most of all he enjoyed visiting with friends and family.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Oscar and Emma Jane Bunton; his first wife, Ruth Ann Bunton; his second wife, Oleva Bunton; brothers and sisters, Emmett, Jim, Orville, Gene, Bud, Elvin, Ronnie, Shirley Spurgeon and Sharon Niehaus.
He is survived by his three children, Teresa Ann Bunton and fiancé Bennie Mynatt of Sullivan, Darla Mae Bunton and fiancé Dan Vinyard of Union and Joshua Earl Bunton and fiancé Nicole Lindeman of Marionville; three sisters, Mary Miller of Washington, Catherine Denham and husband Rick of Kailua, HI and Pearl Strosnider of Cuba; five grandchildren, Alyssa Parker, James Lamunion, Ashton Mynatt, Karli Bunton and Kyndall Bunton; two great-grandchildren, Leigha Manley and Kayden Parkins; step-son, Darren Pritchett of Union; step-grandchildren, Katrina, Gage and J.C.; nieces; nephews; many other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations to the Franklin County Humane Society are preferred.
