Forest Dale “Dwight” Bull, of rural Lonedell, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the age of 81 years. He was born in St. Louis, on November 1, 1944, to William C. and Flora M. (Portner) Bull.
Dwight, as he was known by everyone, was a pipe fitter at the St. Louis Shipyard for over thirty years before its closure. He was a member of the Mercy Ministries of Richwood.
He was known to work, and work, and work and work, no matter where he was needed or who needed him. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting deer and squirrels, and fishing for whatever he could catch. One of his fondest memories was flying by helicopter to remote fishing spots in Alaska where he fly-fished for salmon and trout. Most of all, he enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, William and Flora Bull; children, Marvin Bull, Rita Zeigler, Donald Bull; great granddaughter, Macy Bull; brothers, Willaim Bull, John Bull.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Nettie (Magill) Bull, daughters, Cindy Bell (David Bechtel) of Lonedell, Kathy Kane (Terry) of Hannibal; sons, Ronald (Opal) Bull Sr. of Sullivan, Steven Bull Sr. of Bourbon; grandchildren, Ronald (Jen) Bull Jr., Shawn Bull, Tashela (Ethan) Humphries, Steven Bull Jr., Misty Hilton, Falicia Bull, Cheyenne Bull, Samantha Bull, Kayla Bull, Natasha Hager, Nicholas Hagger, Jessie Zeigler, JoLyn Higbie, Amanda (Kit) Atherton, Stephenie Bechtel, Vincent Bechtel, Elizabeth (Paul) Beckham, Timothy Kane, Jordan (Donny) Hoover; thirty-six great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene Smith of St, Clair; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
