Dorothy Evelyn Allen nee Ferrell, 85, of Washington passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 in Washington.

Mrs. Allen, daughter of the late Houston Ferrell and wife Evelyn nee Hauser was born December 18, 1931 in Washington, Missouri.

On October 2, 1991, she was united in marriage to Louis Allen in Union.

Mrs. Allen was employed at St. John's Hospital until her retirement in 2001.

She was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church in Washington where she taught Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Evelyn Ferrell; her husband Louis Allen; one brother, Eugene Ackmann and infant son, Paul Hoelscher.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin Hoelscher of St. Clair and Robert Hoelscher of Femme Osage; two daughters, Ava Marshall of Washington and Diana Rulon of Washington; one brother, Maurice Ackmann and wife Trinidad of Shawnee Mission, KS; seven grandchildren, Alicia Ball, Danielle McDris and husband Jeff, Ashley Hoelscher and significant other Daniel Courtney, Amanda Bowman and husband Nick, Alexandria Ball, Nicole Marshall and significant other Nick and Thomas E. Rulon; fourteen great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
