Donald L. Busch, 82, of Union, passed away, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at his home in the comforting presence of his family.

On August 31, 1940, Don was born to the union of Curtis Busch and Irma (Renfro) in St. Louis, Missouri.

Don was united in marriage on December 30, 1983, to Joyce (Cooper) in Florrisant, Missouri.

He retired from the Mid-County Fire Department in St. Louis after 28 years of dedicated and courageous duty.

Don enjoyed spending time on the green, playing 18 holes of golf as much as he could. He also loved trying his luck at bingo as well as playing KENO. He was a sports enthusiast. To name a few, his favorite teams were The St. Louis Cardinals for baseball, Mizzou for basketball and The Kansas City Chiefs for football. He was the best stepfather and very good with his grandchildren. He had a big heart for animals and was just an all around great man. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Busch and Irma Holting; one brother, Curtis Busch.

Don is survived by his wife of 39 years, Joyce Busch of Union; two sons, Curtis Busch and wife Jo of Springfield and Lloyd Busch and wife Carol of Maryland Heights; stepson, John Rodgers and wife Debbie of Gerald; daughter, Janice Tiefenbrun of Wentzville; two stepdaughters, Karen Nickel and husband Todd of Maryland Heights and Marlo McGhay and husband Rich of St. Charles; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
