Dixie Carol McKinney, 84, of Union, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the home of her daughter in St Charles.

Dixie, daughter of Roy McKinney and his wife, Edith (Vincent) was born in Saint Clair on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1938.

She was a graduate of Saint Clair High School where she excelled in sports, lettering all four years in track, volleyball, basketball and cheerleading.  She was an athlete and supported others as well by encouragement and through assisting in their training.

Before her retirement, Dixie worked at McDonnell-Douglas/Boeing where she installed wiring in the cockpit of many of the aircraft that was produced in St. Louis.

After her marriage to Bob, the two of them traveled to thirty-eight states, Mexico and Canada. She was huge fan of the Purdue Boilermakers football and basketball teams. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Edith McKinney; one son, Vincent Lowe; one brother, Lyle Lee McKinney; two grandsons, Ryan Mattingly, Joshua Watson.

She is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, Robert "Bob" Teckenbrock of Union; two daughters, Sheree Gruen and husband Lonis of St. Charles, Cyndi Dotson and husband Rowdy of Charlack; one sister, Debbie Kimberlin and husband Kurt of St. Charles; one daughter-in-law, Carol Lowe of Union; six grandchildren, Sara Watson of St. Peters, Nichole Wilson and husband Jeff of St. Peters, Jessie Genteman and husband John of St. Peters, Danny Lowe and wife Haeli of Union, Jayme McGowen and husband Taylor of Sullivan, Kelsie Van Leer and husband A.J. of Union; twelve great grandchildren, Taylor Wilson, Tanner Wilson, Elly Wilson, Hayden Wilson, Jesse Watson, Sutton Lowe, Ellie Lowe, Grey McGowen, Leighton McGowen, Hudson McGowen, Kora Jean Van Leer, Lexi Genteman; nieces; nephews; cousins and many friends.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
