Diane Elaine Friend (Biggs), 77, of Sullivan, passed away, Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur.

On September 21, 1945, Diane was born to the union of Osco Biggs and Maude (Jones) in West Frankfort, Illinois.

Diane graduated from West Frankfort High School. She would later attend St. Louis University obtaining her RN and BSN.

She was united in marriage to Larry Friend on April 28, 1984, in St. Clair, Missouri.

Diane practiced as an RN for over 40 years, 20 of those remaining years were at VCC Mercy Safe Watch.

She was a faithful Christian who enjoyed reading the bible along with other books. Diane especially loved going on family vacations. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flower beds. In her younger years she lived life to the fullest by horseback riding, skiing and roller skating . She was also fond of music. Most of all Diane loved her family and friends very much and she will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Osco and Maude Biggs; son, Michael Shawn Biggs; brother, Billy Biggs; sister, Jerry Hancock.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Larry Friend of Sullivan; daughter, Michelle E. Parker and husband Olon "Keith" of Sullivan; brother, two grandsons, Shawn M. Parker and Ayden C. Parker; James Biggs of Illinois; sister, Roberta Jensen of Missouri; other relatives and many friends.
