Devon Patrick McNew of Washington, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the age of 28 years after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 30, 1997, in Sullivan, Missouri; the son of Shawn McNew and his wife, Amanda (O'Connor).

Devon was united in marriage to Melanie (Heimann) on October 10, 2020, at Meramec State Park in Sullivan, and the couple made their home in Washington with their beloved fur babies. He was a dedicated and loving husband who cherished the tight bond he shared with Melanie. He was a member of Real Life Church in St. Clair. He was very spirit-filled and had a true love for the Lord.

Devon was a huge Kansas City Chiefs fan and an incredible musician. He truly had a gift of songwriting; the songs he wrote were beautiful, and his abilities were matched by few. He was a beacon of kindness with a gentle soul that touched all who knew him. Everyone was a friend, and he could make anyone feel seen and valued. Despite life's challenges, Devon met them with courage and resilience, teaching others the true meaning of strength. He will always be remembered for his smile and willingness to go the extra mile for the people he loved, and his final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

Devon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bonnie Robison and Della Wampner; and his father-in-law, Robert Heimann.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie McNew, of Washington; his parents, Shawn and Amanda McNew, of St. Clair; five siblings, Destiny Englaender and husband Lucas, of St. Clair, Abigail McNew and fiancé Zach Schmitt, of Union, Christopher McNew and wife Jayma, of St. Louis, Brayden McNew, of St. Clair, and Mitchell Heimann, of Kansas City, Missouri; his grandparents, Ted and Julie O'Connor, of Hillsboro, and Dennis McNew, of St. Clair; mother-in-law, Denise Parker, of St. Charles; his fur babies, Hercules, Livy, Leo, Penny, and Robert Meowny, Jr.; aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the St. Clair Elks. Please join us for a time of love and remembering one of our favorite people in true Devon style:
