Dennis Alvin Helm, 71, of Union passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 in Washington.

On December 3, 1949 Dennis was born to the union of Charles Helm and Dorothy (Collins) in Washington.

Dennis graduated from Owensville Highschool in 1968.

He was united in marriage August 22, 1970 to Linda (Zweifel) in Leslie.

Dennis worked as a machinist for Union Pacific and would retire after 35 years.

He was a member of the American Legion of Union, Lions Club of Beaufort, Volunteer Firefighter of Beaufort, Machinist Local 777 and a Scout Master of troop 434.

Dennis enjoyed camping, traveling and fishing when he could. He was a handy man and was always fixing something. Most of all Dennis loved his family and spending time with his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Helm; parents-in-law, Earl and Edna Zweifel.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Helm of Union; son, Dennis C. Helm and wife Angel of Gray Summit; daughter, Courtney Hamilton and husband Jeffrey of Union; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Tammy Vemmer of Union; brother-in-law, Earl Zweifel of Gerald; sister-in-law, Shirley Hays of Beaufort; five grandchildren, Nathan Helm, Jessica Helm, Alex Williams, Olivia Williams and Jaxon Hamilton; other relatives and many friends.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
