Denis Gregory Mebruer of Washington, MO passed away Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 81 years.  He was born October 25, 1941 at home on the Mebruer farm in Concord Hill, MO; the son of Nick and Marie (Roesner) Mebruer.  Denis graduated in 1959 from St. Francis Borgia High School in Washington. He was united in marriage to Mary (Roetheli) on October 15, 1966 at St. Francis Borgia Church and two children blessed their union. Denis worked at a variety of places over the years including Emmerson Electric, Tradco, Permaneer, and McDonnell Douglas, before retiring from Boeing.  He also served in the United States Army Reserves. Denis volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Marriage Encounter & TEC (Teens Encounter Christ), and alongside Mary, was involved with marriage prep classes at St. Francis Borgia.

Denis was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Marie Mebruer; his wife, Mary Mebruer; one brother, Paul Mebruer; and one sister, Mary Louise Kellogg.

He is survived by one son, Greg Mebruer and wife Molly of Eureka; one daughter, Tori Mebruer of Washington; three grandchildren: Grace Sullentrup of St. Louis, Joel Sullentrup of Washington, and Robin Mebruer of Eureka; one brother, Glen Mebruer and his wife Emily of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Patty Mebreur of Treloar; brother-in-law, David Roetheli and wife Debbie of Washington; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Gertrude's Learning Center or the American Cancer Society.
