Dannie Lee Adkison, age 86, passed away at his home near Sullivan, in the presence of his family on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Dannie, son of George and Ollie (Ward) Adkison, was born on Tuesday, December 26, 1936, in Sikeston, Missouri.  Dannie was united in marriage to the love of his life, Donna "Susie" Lewis on December 10, 1977.

Early in his life, he enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.  After completing his service to our country, he worked as a union floor layer and then operated Meramec Radiator in Sullivan for over forty years.  He was a member of the Sullivan VFW and was baptized in the Sullivan Christian Church.

Dannie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time in the outdoors.  He most of all loved spending time with his family.  He especially enjoyed seeing his great grandchildren arrive from school on the bus each day.

He was preceded in death by his wife Susie Adkison whom he loved and cherished; his parents, George Adkison, Ollie and Alvis Bilyeu; one son, Marty Kleinberg; four brothers, Don Adkison, Glenn Adkison, Billy Adkison, Dale Adkison.

Dannie is survived by three sons, Monte and wife Diana Kleinberg of Stanton, Josh Reagan, Tommy; two daughters, Tammy, Cheryl; two brothers, Earl and wife Cathy Adkison of St. Louis, Allen and wife Linda Adkison of St. Louis; one sister, Georgia Hohensee of Sullivan; one sister-in-law, Sharon Adkison of Owensville; two grandchildren; Derick and wife Cassy Keller of Sullivan, Seth Kleinberg and fiancé Lauryn of Union; three great grandchildren, Lucas Keller, Cruz Keller and Owen Keller all of Sullivan; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
