Daniel Joseph Schmitt, 38, of St. Charles formerly of St. Clair passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 in St. Peters.
Daniel, son of Timothy Lomax and wife Gaynell (Foster) was born October 11, 1983 in Washington.
On May 9, 2009 he was united in marriage to Leslie Bickford in Creve Coeur.
Daniel worked as an over the road truck driver at Mczuk Industries/Bockting Trucking in New Haven. He was the owner of Champion Trucking in St. Charles and loved all big trucks.
As an ordained minister Daniel was a member and deacon at Central Missionary Baptist in Union. He was known as a JESUS LOVER.
He was a proud member of the NRA. He enjoyed shooting, gunsmithing and rock music. Most of all he loved his family.
Daniel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gene and Faye Lomax, Glenn and Dolores Foster and his nephew, Jordan Jones.
He is survived by his, wife, Leslie Ann Schmitt of St. Charles; four children, Zoe Grace Schmitt, Mia Faith Schmitt, Bo Joseph Alan Schmitt and Cam Joseph Raymond Schmitt; parents, Tim and Gaynell Lomax of Sullivan; four brothers, Justin Schmitt and wife Melinda of Stanton, William Lomax and wife Francesca of Dittmer, T.J. Lomax of St. Clair and Rich Jones and wife Brandy of Imperial; two sisters, Kristin Patterson and husband Austin of Sullivan and Alicia McDaniel and husband Corey of St. Clair; grandparents, Charlotte Grissom of New Madrid and Sonny and Pat Bickford of Sikeston; mother-in-law, Cindy Lewis of New Madrid; father-in-law, Dewey Bickford Jr. of Sikeston; three nephews, Levi, Dallas and Austin; one great niece, Kaizlee; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations to the family are preferred.
