Daniel M. Burton, of St. Clair, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the age of 95. He was born April 7, 1930, to the union of Melvin L. and Rebecca B. (Hurtubise) Burton at Centaur, Missouri.

Dan, as he was known to family and friends, was united in marriage to Viola J. Nevins on June 14, 1957, at Antioch Baptist Church in rural St. Louis County (now Wildwood); together, they enjoyed sixty-four years of marriage before her passing in 2021.

He earned a bachelor's degree in agriculture from Missouri State University - Columbia, retiring from Heinz Corporation after several years in the position of agricultural field representative, acquiring contracts with midwestern farmers for the production of ingredients for Heinz products and overseeing the quality of these products.

He was a faithful member and served as deacon at St. Clair Southern Baptist Church. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting and repairing bicycles, which he carried on throughout his entire life. Dan also enjoyed making birdhouses with roofs made of license plates that he cheerfully gave away to his family and friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Burton; parents, Melvin and Rebecca Burton; and one brother, David Burton.

He is survived by his son, Michael Burton, of St. Clair; grandchildren, Sean Burton and wife Becca, of Oklahoma, and Nicole Burton, of Oklahoma; great-grandson, Zander Burton, of Oklahoma; other relatives, and many friends.
