Cheryl L. White, 61, of Union passed away, August 19, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
On February 23, 1961, Cheryl was born to the union of William Garland and Bernice (Schoenfeld) in Washington, Missouri.
Cheryl was a 1979 graduate from Union High School.
On August 4, 1979, Cheryl was united in marriage to James David "Buckwheat" White at the First Baptist Church in Union.
She was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary for the Union Fire Department as well as a board member for the Whispering Valley Lakes community. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Union.
Cheryl was employed at TOPS for over 35 years.
She was an avid republican. Cheryl participated in the school choir which is where she discovered her love for singing. She enjoyed playing bingo, watching old westerns, NASCAR and especially wrestling. Cheryl was best described as being free-spirited by family and friends. She was also a talented baker. Most of Cheryl loved her family and friends but especially her grandchildren. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bernice Garland; one sister, Brenda Frederick and her husband Walter; brother-in-law, David Wayne Luttrell.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, J. David White of Union; one daughter, Justina Brune and husband Anthony of Union; sister, Carolyn Luttrell of Union; brother, Carl Garland and husband Shane Turnbeaugh of St. Louis; close cousins, David Pehle and wife Shawn of Union, Allen Pehle and wife Lori of Herman and James Schoenfeld Jr. and wife Sonia of Kentucky; three grandchildren, Makayla Prater, Maria Prater and Zackry Prater all of Union; honorary grandson, Colton Frederick of Sullivan; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations are appreciated to Mercy Hospice in Washington or Siteman Cancer Center.
