Charlie James Smith, 72, of Villa Ridge passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his home.

Charlie, son of Lewis Smith and Clara Susan (Martin) was born November 22, 1949 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Charlie loved camping, fishing and playing darts. One of his biggest joys was owning and driving his 1995 Ford Bronco. He was a huge John Wayne fan and took great pride in his family and his work.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Clara Susan Smith.

He is survived by his children, Charlotte Phipps and fiancé Will Busse of St. Clair and Brittany Smith of Fort Smith, AR; two stepsons, Ryan Figge and wife Amber of Killeen, TX and Clinton Figge; three brothers, Darrell Martin and wife Gayle of Fort Worth, TX, Gary Smith and wife Linda of Joshua, TX and Dennis Smith and wife Susan of Grandbury, TX; nine grandchildren, Raven Phipps, Austyn Phipps, Nicholas Startzman, Ayden Startzman, Dylan Figge, Logan Figge, Thomas Figge, Tanner Figge and Rylie Figge; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

A private graveside service will be held at San Saba Cemetery in San Saba, Texas.
