Obituary

Charles D. Risch, 80, of Beaufort passed away Monday, October 13, 2014 at his home. Mr. Risch, son of the late Maximillian Adolph Risch and wife Marie Helen nee Pleis was born October 3, 1934 in St. Louis County, Missouri. On July 30, 1954 he was united in marriage to Shirley Meyer in Waterloo, IL. Mr. Risch worked as a plumber and member of the Plumber's and Pipefitter's Union Local #562. He was a member of the Beaufort Lion's Club and member of 4H where he taught small engine repairs. He also taught Bee Keeping Education at East Central College. Charles and Shirley were very active members at the 4Rivers YMCA in Washington. He like to restore antique cars especially Fords and specialized in Model A and Model T. He was considered a part-time farmer. He raised livestock, cut hay and practiced Bee Keeping on his property. In his spare time he enjoyed wood carving and was an avid reader. Mr. Risch was preceded in death by his parents, Maximillian and Marie Risch; nine siblings, Edward Risch, Adolph Risch, Elizabeth Hartmann, Charlotte Bauman, Harry Risch, Raymond Risch, Rose Hayden, Marie Stoplos and Arlene Skaggs. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Risch of Beaufort; five children, Jon Risch and wife Patricia of Toomsuba, MS, Mark Risch of Columbia, Adam Risch of St. Louis, Paul Risch of St. Louis and Brenda Risch of El Paso, TX; five grandchildren, Aaron Risch of North Carolina, Melissa Tullos and husband James of Illinois, Adam Matthew Risch of Pacific, Brian Beste of St. Louis, and Katie E. Risch of Ballwin; four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Tullos, Brayden Beste, Michael Tullos and Zane Matthew Risch; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
