Charles "Charlie" Edward Walker, 85, of Union passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 in St. Clair.
Charlie, son of William Walker and Retha (Carlisle) was born January 21, 1934 in Risco, Missouri.
On August 15, 1952 he was united in marriage to his first wife Ruby Ellen (Seidler) in St. Louis. On September 1, 2002 he was united in marriage to Betty Banister in Cape Fair, Missouri.
At the age of eighteen he started working at Lindberg Cadillac and retired at the age of 57. From there he took a job at Silver Dollar City.
Charlie was always an active member within the churches where he resided at the time. Most recently he was a member at First Christian Church in Washington.
He was an avid Cardinal Fan and enjoyed bass fishing, golfing and bowling. Most of all he was a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, William and Retha Walker; his first wife, Ruby Ellen (Seidler) Walker; his daughter, Robin Walker; one brother, Sherman Walker and two sisters, Eileen Ruddy and Mary Thouvener.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Walker of Union; five children, Kenneth Walker and wife Robyn of St. Clair, Vince Walker of Union, Rebecca McDaniel and husband Ron of Union, Tracie Ritter and husband Terry of St. Clair and Andrew Walker and wife Sheri of St. Clair; one brother, Don Walker of Florissant; two sisters, Anne Kemp of Annapolis, MO and Ruby Huelskamp of Lebanon, MO; twelve grandchildren, Wendy Fife and husband Aaron, Lacey Walker, Becki Walker (Steve Metts), Josh Schmidt and wife Ashley, Adam Schmidt and wife Sarah, Rachel Lasswell and husband Jeremy, Darick Ritter and wife Emily, Dane Ritter and wife Diane, Ellen Ritter, Lauren Walker (Matthew Newlon), Hannah Walker and Natalie Walker; twenty great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Memorial donations to Mercy Hospice, Washington or First Christian Church of Washington.
