Charles "Buck" D. Melton, 83, of Washington passed away, Monday, June 17, 2019 at his home.

Mr. Melton, son of the late Charles Melton Sr. and Lena (Busse) was born December 16, 1935 in Anaconda.

On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Schulz in Labadie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. and Lena Melton; his wife Dorothy Melton; two brothers, Carl Melton and Buddy Melton and one sister, Mary Melton.

Mr. Melton is survived by three daughters, Machel Kauffman and husband Jon of Union, Pamela Plafcan Schutter and husband John of Labadie and Amy Schroeter and husband Marvin of Washington; one brother, Rick Melton of Illinois; one sister, Judy Novotny of Fenton; six grandchildren, Jessica Carey of Union, Corporal Patrick Carey and wife Leah of Gerald, Nick Plafcan of Tennessee, Trevor Plafcan of Labadie, Laurena Schroeter of Washington and Leighten Schroeter of Washington ; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Noble and Bryson Carey; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Gateway in Honor of Leighten Schroeter or Make-A-Wish Foundation are preferred.
