Cathy Phillips nee Whitaker, 63 of Union passed away Monday, December 1, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Phillips, daughter of Harold Whitaker and wife Edith nee Wilkons was born October 1, 1951 in Salem, Illinois. On June 6, 1971 she was united in marriage to Allen Phillips in Salem, Illinois. Cathy was a dedicated Cardinal Fan, loved fishing, bonfires, and spending time in the outdoors with children. She especially lived life for her grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her father, Harold Whitaker. She is survived by her husband, Allen Phillips of Union; two sons, Corey Phillips and wife Kathryn of Villa Ridge and Brian Phillips and wife Michelle of Union; her mother, Edith Whitaker of Salem, IL; one sister, Vicky Johnson of Salem, IL; five grandchildren, Emily Phillips, Briana Phillips, Autumn Phillips, Ashley Phillips and Chris Phillips; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
