Carol Sue (Kelley) Kamper, 80, of Union, MO passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Carol was born March 16, 1944 in Washington, MO; the daughter of Carmen Kelley and his wife, Edna (Jenkins). She was united in marriage to David W. Kamper on February 6, 1960 and the couple spent 64 wonderful years together. Carol worked at several well-known establishments starting with White Rose Cafe when she was only 15 years old. She then worked at Brown Shoe Company for multiple years, and then Carmo Shoe Factory. After raising her family, she then worked as a hostess at Ponticelli's Restaurant in Washington.
Carol's life was so full of family and friends, and she loved spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling, including to Hawaii, and spent several winters in Florida. She also loved her hummingbirds, and anything outdoors, especially camping and gardening.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carmen and Edna Kelley; and one sister, Patricia (Bill) Fox.
She is survived by her husband, David Kamper of Union; two children: Dianna Huxel and husband Alan of Union, and Steven Kamper and special friend, Jennifer Harris of Union; three siblings: Betty Taylor of TN, James Kelley and wife Annette of Mt. Sterling, and Robert Kelley and wife Teresa of Rosebud; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Carol Kamper will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the KC Hall in Union, MO.
