Carol Irene Conklin (nee Wymer), 78, of Union, passed away at Meramec Nursing Center in Sullivan, on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Carol, daughter of Elmer Wymer and wife Lorene (Irwin) Wymer, was born in St Louis on June 5, 1945.

Before her retirement, Carol was employed by a home health provider as a CNA where she especially liked working with hospice patients. She loved to fish for anything that would bite and enjoyed her pets. She traveled all over the United States with her husband, Wes Conklin, who drove for United Van Lines. Carol always looked forward to their trips to the Western United States and traveling with her dog, Ginger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes Conklin; her parents, Elmer and Lorene Wymer; and two sisters, Susie Wymer and Linda Jantti.

Carol is survived by one son, Curt DeMiere and wife Amy of Union; two daughters: Dawn Voss and husband Kenny of Union, and Julie Arnold and husband Larry of DeSoto; one sister: Judy Conaway of Washington; eleven grandchildren: Desi, Jacob, Kyle, Stephanie, Ashley, Devin, Nathan, Angela, Cheyenne, Candice and Kiersten; great grandchildren; special nephew, Dan Vinyard and fiancée, Darla Petty; other nieces, nephews, and many friends.
