Carl began his spiritual life at New Hope Baptist Church in TN., where he grew up and met the love of his life, Nancy (Pierce).  He received his education from Rutherford Elementary School and Rutherford High School.  He was united in marriage to Nancy on August 10, 1956, in Corinth, MS., and four children blessed their union.  The family moved numerous times as Carl provided ministry first at Central Baptist Church in Union, before moving on to Oak Hill Baptist Church in Alton, Glenview Baptist Church in Independence, Springdale Church in Fenton, and finally settling at St. Clair Southern Baptist Church in St. Clair.  Carl had a deep love for the Lord and cherished spreading his message.
