William "Bill" Hanley, 61, of St. Clair, passed away, Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

On October 11, 1961, Bill was born to the union of Jack Hanley and Trudith (Lane) in St. Louis.

Bill attended Eureka High School but found a better fit for his educational needs through South County Technical School where he learned machining. Through his technical skills and education, he worked as a machinist for Boeing for 28 years from which he retired.

On July 11, 2002, Bill was united in marriage to Simplicia (Aguilar) in Franklin County.

Bill was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair.

He enjoyed being outdoors whether he was hunting or fishing. In his younger years he could be found on the green with 18 holes, improving his golf swing as well as lowering his par. Most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Trudith Coatney.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Simplicia Hanley of St. Clair; two sons, Todd Hanley and wife Shelene of Sullivan and Derek Hanley and wife Ashley of Eureka; one daughter, Leila Hanley of St. Clair; his father, Jack Hanley and wife Vicki of Fenton; one brother, James Coatney Jr. and wife Maria of St. Clair; five sisters, Elizabeth Gossage and husband Johney of St. Clair, Hope Land and husband David of Georgia, Virginia Kinder and husband William of St. Clair, Carol Sickmeier and husband John of O'Fallon and Debbie Hanley of Fenton; ten grandchildren, Logan, Reece, Dexter, Marshal, Graham, Crystal, Nikki, Taylor, Mason and Cameron; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
