Betty Carolyn Barnes, of Owensville, passed away in the presence of her loving family on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 85.  She was born to the union of James Horn and Margie Horn-Martin, in Booneville, Mississippi, on May 15, 1940.

After completing high school, she attended business college in Memphis, Tennessee.  With her knowledge and expertise, she and her husband Dean owned and operated Washington Printing Press for over 20 years.  Betty then worked as a purchasing agent for ERC in Overland Park, Kansas and was an Organizer of Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Mississippi.

Betty was a faithful member of St. John's United Church of Christ at New Melle.  She also enjoyed travel, music and Flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dallis "Dean" Barnes; son, Gary Barnes; daughter-in-law, Barbara "Ely" Barnes; parents, James and Margie Horn; brother Marcus "David" Martin.

Betty is survived by her son, Ronald Barnes and wife Max of Owensville; brother, Joseph "Larry" Horn of Washington; grandchildren, Rebecca Baumstark of Owensville, Tracy Green and husband Richard of Sullivan; five great grandsons and one great granddaughter; one great-great grandson; other relatives and many friends.
