Barbara Jane Taetz (Bard), 88, of Union passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in New Haven.

Barbara, daughter of Hildebert Frances Bard and wife Janet Hoover (Earismann) was born August 3, 1932 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

On June 7, 1986 she was united in marriage to David Taetz at the First Christian Church of Union.

Barbara was an active member of the Ridge Church in Villa Ridge, sharing her talents working with many different ministries.

She expressed her creativity in the areas of ceramics, woodworking, and spent many hours with friends making greeting cards. She had a huge heart for all animals and shared her home with at least eight dogs through her adult life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Hildebert and Janet Bard-Beatty; her first husband, Earl Blatt; her second husband, David Taetz and one sister, Edna Loyko.

She is survived by three children, Gerald Blatt and wife Karen Beatty of Chesterfield, Linda Krenning and husband Richard of Beaufort and Lucinda Shearman and husband Paul of Union; one sister, Ruth Adlon of Harrisburg, PA; six grandchildren, Jessica, Andrew, Abigail, Gary, Alyson and Brian; five step-grandchildren, James, Steven, Stephanie, Justin and Amanda; three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Ridge Church are preferred.
