Barbara Ann Scott (Morris), 84, of Augusta, passed away, Thursday, May 12, 2022, in Washington.

On November 19, 1937, Barbara was born to the union of George Edward Morris and Virginia (Olds) in St. Louis.

Barbara was a graduate from St. Joseph's Academy in Frontenac.

She was one of many children who grew up on Graybridge Lane in Ladue, whose friendship bond with the others lasted her entire life.

Barbara worked in many unique industries highlighted by her ownership of both Meriwether's restaurants in Washington and New Haven.

She was an amazing chef and people loved her food!  Her talent to create delicious food of so many different cuisines was unmatched.  She also had beautiful handwriting and craft making skills. Often, she would create hand-made cards to send to family and friends for all occasions. Those will be missed tremendously.  Barbara was an avid traveler and loved taking trips to California and Italy. Most of all Barbara loved spending time with her many friends and family; especially her grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George Edward and Virginia Morris; one son, John Spellman III; two sisters, Nancy Morris Price & Kelly Morris McDonald; brother, Edward Morris; and her husband of 40 plus years, Campbell Alden Scott.

She is survived by her two sons, Peter Spellman and wife Raffaella of Santa Cruz, California & Andrew Spellman of Wildwood; one sister, Kathy Morris Haberstroh of Gerald; three grandchildren, Mia Josephine Spellman, Macy Burke Spellman and Lorenzo Spellman; her daughter-in-law Marian Spellman; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations are appreciated to Chef Jose Andres (who helps feed those who suffer from natural disasters) or St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
