Barbara Ann Rowden (Schneider), 82, of Union, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

Barbara was born on March 26, 1944, in Pacific, Mo., to the late James and Violet (Bay) Schneider. She married the love of her life, Marland Rowden, and together they built a loving family and shared many wonderful years together.

Barbara worked for many years at Carmel Shoe Factory and later Brown Shoe Factory. She was known for her kind heart, quick wit, and love of spending time with family. She enjoyed fishing, telling stories about her fishing adventures, completing crossword puzzles and Woodoku, playing games on her phone, browsing yard sales and thrift stores, and volunteering at the Agape House in Union. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and treasured every moment spent with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Violet Schneider; her daughter, Cheryl Ann Rowden; her sisters, Shirley Schneider-Wood and MaryAnn Frankenberg; her granddaughter, Holly Garris; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Edna Rowden; her sisters-in-law, Wanda Schwinker and Donna Gerling; brothers-in-law; Robert Birkman, Richard Knull, Donald Gerling and Merlin Schwinker and other beloved family members who welcomed her home.

Barbara is lovingly survived by her husband, Marland Rowden of Union; her son, Tom (Nannette) Rowden of Sullivan; her daughter, Candace Rowden-Meyer of Union; her brother, Danny (Liz) Schneider of St. Clair; her sisters, Sue (Larry) Brown of Union, Rita Birkman of Union, and Patricia (Tim) Burnett of Union; grandchildren; Welsey Rowden, Jamieson Brendel, Everleigh Meyer, Barry Rowden, Rachel (Quintion) Elswick, Zach Rowden, Zachery (Megan) Rhoads, Jasmine (Ally) King, Sara Brown, O’Brien Garris, great-grandchildren; Gunner, Maggie, Bryson, Autumn, Caleb, Adalyn, Alycia, great-great-grandchildren; Bryson and Braylynn and 4 others in Arkansas, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Midlawn Funeral Home, visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Barbara will be remembered for her loving heart, her sense of humor, and the many happy memories she created with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
