Barbara Evelyn Duffer of Union passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born in Fredericktown on December 22, 1929, the oldest surviving child of Ross and Ruth (Kennedy) Lunsford.

As the oldest of ten children, she helped to care for all of her younger siblings as they grew up together. On July 10, 1947, Evelyn and Howard Duffer traveled to Arkansas and eloped, beginning the start of her own family, of which she would care for, always setting an example for her children as the gentle and kind person that she was.

She was deeply involved in the ministry as a Jehovah's Witness. Her spare time was a very busy time, sewing quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed embroidering, raising flowers and vegetables in her garden, and canning the many vegetables to feed her growing family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Duffer; parents, Ross and Ruth Lunsford; daughter, Beverly Krattli; son, Daniel Duffer; grandchildren, Jimmy Hatfield, David Hatfield, and Matthew Duffer; sister, Alice Miller; brothers, Roy Lunsford, Lindell Lunsford, Robert Lunsford, Donald Lunsford, and Jim Lunsford.

She is survived by daughters, Donna Grantham and husband Bill, of Pleasantville, and Ruth Schwentker and husband Dwayne, of Union; sons, David Duffer and wife Debbie, of Illinois, Mike Duffer and wife Shirley, of Union, and Bob Duffer and wife Kelly, of Beaufort; sisters, Mary Foster, of Fredericktown, and Betty Lunsford, of Fredericktown; brother, Larry Lunsford, of St. Louis; twenty-five grandchildren; sixty great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
