Barbara Ann Briggs nee James, 50 of St. Clair passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 in St. Clair. Mrs. Briggs, daughter of Dallas James and wife Grethalee nee Lott was born May 7, 1964 in Woodbridge, Virginia. She was married to her first husband Tony Walker for 24 years until his passing. On July 14, 2013 she was united in marriage to Alex Briggs in St. Clair at Mt. Zion Church in St. Clair. As a Missionary in Papua, New Guinea she played an active role for ten years in a large Christian School where she taught class. She served for five years as a teacher and principal at Mt. Zion Church. She taught Sunday school, served in the jail ministry and helped with any other areas of the church as needed. She also worked at St. Clair Nursing Home as an Activities Director. Mrs. Briggs was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Grethalee James; one brother, Robert Michael James and her first husband, Tony Walker. She is survived by her second husband, Alex Briggs of St. Clair; two sons, Perry Walker and wife Holly of Galena, MO and Nathan Walker of Crane, MO; two sisters, Shereena James of Charleston, SC and Vickie Beffa of Springfield, MO; four grandchildren, Brianna Walker, Bridget Walker, Brittany Walker and Brielle Walker; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
