Austin Ray Smith of Leasburg, MO passed away unexpectedly Monday, December 2, 2024, at the age of 29 years.  Austin was born July 28, 1995, in St. Louis, MO; the son of Joseph Smith and Melissa (Barnhart) Smith.

Austin received his education from Pacific High School, graduating in the class of 2013.  He received his Auto Technician certification from Four Rivers Career Center in Washington.  He was employed as a mechanic and a tree trimmer.  Austin had a huge heart and could often be found helping others in need.  He had a great sense of humor, and his sarcasm would shine through with a smile. He had a huge love of the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being out on the water. Austin was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Austin was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ray Barnhart, and Leon and Mary Smith.

He is survived by his parents: Joseph Smith of Leasburg, and Melissa Smith of St. Clair; his significant other, Shayla Birk of Leasburg; one brother, David Smith and fiancée Jessica Huyser of Union; his grandmother, Linda Barnhart of St. Clair; one aunt, Janey Smith of Leasburg; cousins, friends, and other relatives.
