Anita Hoppe nee Lewey, 77 of Villa Ridge passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at her home.

Mrs. Hoppe, daughter of the late Kenneth Lewey and wife Edith nee Tannehill was born January 27, 1932 in Hillsboro, Illinois.

On January 27, 1951 she was united in marriage to Melvin Hoppe in Gray Summit.

She was a member of the Gray Summit United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Hoppe was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Edith Lewey; her daughter, Katherine Anita Huls; two brothers, Donald and Ronald Lewey; one step-brother, Lawrence Cayce; step-sister, Karen Calvert.

She is survived by her husband Melvin Hoppe of Villa Ridge; one son, Richard Hoppe and wife Carolyn of Texas; two daughters, Elizabeth Pehle and husband Scott of Villa Ridge and Vicki Pierson and husband Jeff of Indianola, Iowa; one brother, Charles Lewey and wife Peggy of North Carolina; one sister, Margaret Green and husband Leon of Litchfield, IL; nine grandchildren, Robert Hoppe and wife Stephanie, Andrew Hoppe, Jenna Hoppe, Jonathan Huls, Caitlin Huls, Eric Hayes, Sarah Hall, Amber Hall and William Pierson; four great-grandchildren, Ian, Tasha, Tia and Drew; other relatives and many friends.
