Obituary

We mourn the loss of Angelia Jo (Kane) Hohlt who passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the age of 69 years. Angie was born on January 22, 1955, to William Kane and his wife, Naomi (Rice) in Washington, MO.

She received her education in both St. Clair and Union Schools. Angie was baptized at St. Clair Methodist Church and was later a member of Union Methodist Church. She was a true Christian all her life and believed in our Lord.

Angie was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, later for AT&T, for over 35 years.  After retiring, she worked as a contractor for the phone company.

She married William Hohlt, and they were blessed with four children: Harmonie, Sarenatie, Ian, and Clestin.  Angie was a proud grandmother to Logan, Devon, Lydia, and Josiah (who she was guardian for).

Angie was a devoted leader of the Boy Scouts for over 31 years, traveling with the scout troop all over the United States.  She spent many weekends camping with the troops and their parents. Later, she worked with the Explorer Troop and shared many activities with the kids. Angie served with the Allegiance Chapter Order of DeMolay in Eureka.  She always enjoyed working with young people.

Angie joined the order of Eastern Star and belonged to Naomi Chapter #296 and Pacific Chapter #129.  She served as Worthy Matron four times and held many other offices. In 2013 she was District Deputy, then in 2017 she was Grand Officer, then Grand Representative to the state of Utah. Over the years, Angie worked for many charities and was always willing to lend a helping hand to her many friends, and anyone that needed help in any way.  She loved her family and always put them first before herself.

Angie was preceded in death by her 16-year-old daughter, Harmonie Hohlt; and recently her father, Bill Kane, on August 10, 2024.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband, William Hohlt; her daughter, Sarenatie Evans and husband David; her sons: Ian Hohlt, and Clestin Hohlt and wife Rachel; her mother, Naomi Kane; one brother, Wm. Dale Kane and fiancée, Kathy Lakebrink; her grandchildren: Logan, Devon, and Lydia Stout, and Josiah Hohlt; and many other relatives and friends.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Memorials in honor of Angie Hohlt can be made to a foster care organization of donors choice.
