Alice Marie (Skaggs) Kuenz, of Union, MO passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the New Haven Care Center at the age of 85 years. She was born on November 2, 1938, in St Louis to the union of Cleveland and Esther (Meine) Skaggs.

The family moved to Union in 1943, where Alice attended Union public school and graduated from Union High School in 1956. She went on to attend Southwest Baptist University in Boliver and Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg where she graduated in 1960 with a degree in music education.

Alice taught music at Cuba High School, New Haven Middle School, and Immaculate Conception School in Union, totaling more than 21 years in education. She was also very active in church where she played the organ for over 50 years between the First Presbyterian Church in Union and First Baptist Church in Union.  Alice also enjoyed playing in the Kitchen Band and line dancing.

In her spare time outside of music, she enjoyed growing and tending to her flowers.  Alice loved to travel and shared many memories traveling with her brother Johnny, where they visited many lighthouses and several National Parks around our great country.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleveland and Esther Skaggs; her husband, Michael Kuenz; and son-in-law, Matt Hamilton.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Christine Swims and husband David of Springfield; granddaughter, Grace Westcott and husband Patrick of Springfield; brother, John Skaggs of Union; and many other relatives and many friends.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
