Alfred “Dwayne Pyrtle, of Leslie, passed away at his home on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 65. He was born to the union of Marion and Barbara (Landers) Pyrtle, in St. Louis, on January 17, 1961.

Dwayne, as he was known to family and friends, worked in the construction of log homes in his more than forty-year career. He was an avid outdoorsman, taking every opportunity to spend time in nature through fishing, hunting, spending time on the Bourbeuse River or floating the Meramec River. He also had a talent for wood crafting. Dwayne loved life itself, living everyday as if it were his last, but most of all he enjoyed just spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Barbara Pyrtle.

Dwayne is survived by his spouse, Brenda Bandy-Pyrtle of Leslie; daughter, Monica Pyrtle and fiancé Destiny Kelly of Leslie; granddaughter, Daviny; sister, Cathy Pyrtle; other relatives and many friends.
