Alfred "Al" J. Baker, 84, of Union passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Chesterfield.

Mr. Baker, son of the late Sam Baker and wife Ruby nee Barter was born May 6, 1932 in Asherville, MO.

Mr. Baker served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, receiving an honorable discharge in 1954.

On November 9, 1954 he was united in marriage to Della Rievley in Dexter, MO.

He was a member of the Carpenter's Union #1310 in St. Louis and was employed at Midwest Floor for over 30 years until his retirement in 1994.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruby Baker; his son, Jerry Baker; his daughter, Sharon Richardson; one brother, Claude Baker and one sister, Juanita Bain.

He is survived by his wife, Della Baker of Union; two daughters, Karen Hamilton and husband Phil of Union and Paula McCain of Union; one sister, Peggy Parks of Bloomfield, MO; nine grandchildren, Amber Hunewill and husband Andrew, Colin Hamilton, Matt Hamilton, Conner Hamilton, Griffen Hamilton, Carmella Hartzke, Tommy Richardson, Faith Ketcherside and Jobie Richardson and fiancé Jessica Jenkins; four great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
