Aleta Belle (Lewis) Smith, 78, of Marthasville, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her home.

On April 30, 1940 in Jewett, MO Aleta would be born to the union of William Lewis and Gertrude (Miller).

Aleta was in the graduating class of 1958 from Washington High School.

Aleta worked for The United Pentecostal Church International and retired after 30 plus years of employment.

She was a member of the Apostolic Life Church in Washington.

On April 30, 2016 Aleta was united in marriage to Gerald Smith in Defiance, MO.

Aleta enjoyed traveling, gardening, history, playing the piano and baking. She was known for her delicious carrot cake. She also loved Christmas but most of all she loved her family.

Aleta was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gertrude Lewis; one brother, Don Lewis and one sister-in-law, Pat Lewis.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald Smith of Marthasville; two daughters from a prior marriage, Anita Arnold and husband Jeff of O'Fallon, IL, Jackie Olson and husband Dan of San Anselmo, CA; one step-daughter, Alecia Tubb and husband Jeris of Mayflower, AR; three brothers, Frank Lewis and wife Karen of Marthasville, Harold Lewis and wife Barb of Columbia and Gary Lewis of New Monmouth, NJ; one sister, Janice Peters and husband Jim of St. Peters; four grandchildren, Aviana Arnold, Zane Arnold, Theo Olson, Nate Olson; two step-grandchildren, Dacia Skinner and husband Mike of Maryland Heights, Cicily Warbington and husband Jordan of Mayflower, AR; two step-great-grandchildren, Taylor Skinner and Seth Skinner; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Donations are preferred to The Apostolic Life Church to carry on her good works or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
