Alberta June (Kimker) Heimbaugh, 92, formerly of Union, died peacefully on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at her home in Washington, Missouri.
June, daughter of Albert Kimker and wife Amanda (Meyer) was born June 4, 1928 in Sappington, Missouri. Her family later moved to St. Clair, Missouri, where she completed her education and graduated from St. Clair High School. Following the premature death of her mother, big sister June returned home to help her grandmother care for her five younger siblings.
On December 31, 1953 June was united in marriage to Kenneth Gene Heimbaugh of Jackson, Missouri. Their union was blessed by three children. Though they originally made their home in St. Clair, they moved to Union in 1965.
June was a loving, caring mother, a dedicated homemaker, and a good friend. June enjoyed dancing, earning her the nickname "June Bug" because she loved to jitterbug.
June was a long-time member of Zion United Church of Christ in Union.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Amanda Kimker; her husband, Kenneth Gene Heimbaugh; one sister, Laverne Pierce; one brother, Gene Kimker; and her daughter-in-law, Tina (Teter) Heimbaugh.
She is survived by her three children, Barbara Jo Hoberock of Washington, Gary Gene Heimbaugh and wife Stacy of Ballwin and William Alan Heimbaugh and wife Cindy of Lorena, Texas; two brothers, Alvin Kimker of Sullivan and Robert Kimker of St. Clair; two sisters, Karen Griemel of Bourbon and Sharon Roberts and husband Dan of Rogers, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Erin Freese and husband Michael, Douglas Hoberock and wife Julie, Alexandra Boland and husband Sam, Heather Paule and husband Zach, Lauren McBride and husband Kyle, William Andrew Heimbaugh and wife Charity and Kenneth Grant Heimbaugh and wife Hannah; eleven great-grandchildren; cousins; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: 1) Zion United Church of Christ in Union, 2) East Central College Foundation – Kenneth and June Heimbaugh Scholarship, or 3) Every Child's Hope (historically known as Evangelical Children's Home).
Interment at Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union.
